(Wiesbaden, 6 March 2024) The ABO Wind Supervisory Board has appointed Dr Thomas Treiling to become a Managing Director as of 1 April 2024. The 44-year-old geographer is a long-standing employee of the company who has worked at ABO Wind since 2009: first as a Project Manager, then as Team Leader and Head of Department. He became a General Manager in 2018 and has since been responsible for the development of wind energy and photovoltaic projects in Germany, which is particularly important for the company's continued success. The Managing Board thus will grow to six members, until Dr Jochen Ahn's appointment to the Managing Board expires at the end of the year. Ahn will not be available for a further term of office. Treiling will now gradually take over responsibility for Business and Project Development in Germany and France (wind & photovoltaics), IT and Energy Sales and Markets from Ahn.
"Thomas Treiling has already achieved a great deal for ABO Wind and has decisively advanced the company," emphasises Dr Alexander Thomas, Chairman of the Supervisory Board. "I am delighted to appoint this committed expert on the renewable energy market as Managing Director." Under his responsibility, the German Project Development Division has grown from 50 employees in 2018 to more than 140 colleagues. While wind energy had previously been at the centre of planning activities, solar energy has now become a second central pillar of the core business.
With Treiling's promotion to Managing Director, the second Management level will also be strengthened with experienced colleagues. The previous Head of Department, Amaya Hilpert (50), will be promoted to General Manager for Solar Project Development in Germany. The previous Head of Department, Kristof Frank (46), will also join the General Management and will take over responsibility for Project Development Wind in Germany.
"The restructuring and strengthening of the Management create good conditions for our continued and decentralised operations in the German regions. It’s the basis for a further growth of our strong pipelines, and to further increase the contribution of the Project Development Germany to the company's success," says Treiling.
